Refreshed within 30 days of state guideline updates. Each calculator names the state and the formula year. Where states use judicial discretion rather than a strict formula (most alimony cases), the calculator labels its output as a ballpark, not a binding estimate.
Why is the divorce cost calculator's range so wide?
Because divorce cost varies 10x between a no-contest, no-asset case ($500–$2,000 total) and a contested high-asset case with custody disputes ($25,000–$100,000+ per side). The calculator asks the questions that drive the range so you can land your estimate in a narrow band.
Are military pay tables up to date?
Basic Pay tables, BAH rates by ZIP, and BAS are updated within 30 days of DoD release each year. VA disability ratings use the most recent COLA-adjusted compensation tables. Each calculator footer shows the year and effective date.
