Calculover works without accounts, without ads, and without collecting personal information. This page explains exactly what data exists, where it lives, and what we do with it.

Calculover ("we," "us," or "our") operates calculover.com (the "Site"), a collection of free, browser-based calculators. This Privacy Policy explains what information exists when you use the Site, how it is handled, and the choices you have.
The short version: the Site is designed so that we hold as little data as possible. There are no accounts, no ad networks, and no cross-site tracking. The numbers you type into a calculator never reach our servers.
02What we do not collect
- No accounts or profiles — you never sign up or log in.
- No names, emails, or phone numbers — we do not collect or store personally identifiable information in the course of normal use. (If you email us or use the contact form, we see what you send — see section 06.)
- No payment information — every tool is free; we never ask for a card.
- No calculator inputs — the values you enter are processed entirely in your browser by JavaScript. They are never transmitted to our servers.
- No advertising identifiers — we run no ad networks and no ad tracking of any kind.
03Information collected automatically (analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used. Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode: our pages load with analytics and ad storage denied by default, and measurement cookies are only set according to your consent state.
When active, Google Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated data such as:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring website (how you found us)
- General geographic region (country/city level — not precise location)
- Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
This data is aggregated and cannot be used by us to identify you personally. We use it solely to see which calculators are popular and where the experience needs improvement.
04Local storage & offline caching
Some calculators use your browser's localStorage to remember your inputs and preferences (including your light/dark theme choice) so they are still there when you return. This data:
- Is stored only on your device — it is never transmitted to our servers
- Contains no personal information beyond what you chose to type
- Can be cleared at any time through your browser settings
The Site also registers a service worker that caches pages and assets on your device so previously visited calculators keep working offline and load faster. This cache lives entirely in your browser and can be removed by clearing site data.
Some calculators offer a Share button that encodes your current inputs into the page URL so you can send it to someone. That data lives in the link itself — share it only with people you want to see it.
05Cookies & consent
Calculover itself does not set first-party tracking cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish unique visitors, subject to the consent-mode defaults described above and governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.
06Contact form & email
If you use the form on our Contact page, your message (and the email address you provide so we can reply) is delivered to us via Formspree, a third-party form-processing service, under Formspree's privacy policy. If you email us directly, we see your email address and message. In both cases we use what you send only to respond to you — we do not add you to mailing lists or share your address.
07How we use information
The anonymous analytics data we collect is used exclusively to:
- Identify which calculators are most used so we can prioritize improvements
- Understand traffic sources so more people can find free tools
- Detect and fix technical issues (broken pages, compatibility problems)
- Decide which calculators to build next
08Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. The only third parties that process any data are Google Analytics (anonymous usage statistics, section 03) and Formspree (messages you choose to send, section 06).
09Third-party links
Our educational content links to external resources (for example, IRS publications and NIH guidelines), and some pages include partner recommendations described in our Affiliate Disclosure. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites — review their policies when you visit them.
10Children's privacy
Calculover is a general-purpose educational tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because we do not collect personal data in the first place, no special data risk arises from minors using our calculators.
11Data security
Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is very little for a breach to expose. The Site is served over HTTPS, and all calculator computations run locally in your browser.
12Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data — access, correction, deletion, and portability. Because we do not hold personal data about visitors, there is generally nothing for us to produce or delete. Two things you fully control yourself:
- Local data — clear your browser's site data to remove localStorage and the offline cache.
- Messages you sent us — email us and we will delete the correspondence.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised effective date, and material changes are summarized in a note at the top of the page.
