Privacy Policy.
Calculover is engineered for absolute zero-knowledge privacy. Your calculations execute 100% locally in your browser memory, we run zero tracking pixels, and no accounts exist. Here is our complete, transparent data contract.
What changed on July 15, 2026: We reorganized this policy for greater technical transparency and added detailed specifications for Google Consent Mode v2, Formspree contact form routing, Service Worker offline caching, and link-encoded calculator state. Our actual data practices did not change.
Zero-Knowledge Data Architecture
Verified Client-SideDevice-Local Only
Never reaches our servers- Calculator Inputs: Mortgage balances, medical metrics, construction dimensions.
- Theme Choices: Stored locally in
localStorage(light/dark mode). - Offline Cache: Service worker PWA assets for zero-lag offline access.
- Share URLs: Inputs encoded strictly in URL hash/parameters.
Anonymous Telemetry
Aggregated via GA4 Consent Mode- Pageviews & Popularity: Aggregated tool visit counts to prioritize roadmap.
- Referring Domains: General discovery sources (e.g. search engines).
- Coarse Region: Country/city level only; zero GPS or precise coordinates.
- Browser & OS: Device type and screen viewport for layout bug fixes.
Zero Collection
We never touch or store- No Accounts: No passwords, usernames, or auth databases exist.
- No Personal Info: No names, phone numbers, or physical addresses.
- No Financial Details: No payment cards, bank routing, or billing data.
- No Ad Networks: No tracking pixels, cross-site beacons, or data broker sales.
01 Introduction
Calculover ("we," "us," or "our") operates calculover.com (the "Site"), an engineering-grade collection of free, browser-based calculators across Finance, Construction, Health, Science, Math, and Engineering. This Privacy Policy explains what information exists when you use the Site, how it is handled, and the absolute control you retain.
02 What We Do Not Collect
- No accounts or user profiles — you never sign up, register, or log in.
- No names, personal emails, or phone numbers — we do not collect or store personally identifiable information in the course of normal calculator use. (If you reach out via our contact form, we only receive what you voluntarily send — see section 06.)
- No payment or credit card information — every single tool is 100% free; we never ask for financial credentials.
- No calculator inputs or sensitive numbers — the values you enter (such as loan amounts, salary, health stats, or room dimensions) are processed locally by deterministic JavaScript in your browser.
- No cross-site advertising identifiers — we run no ad networks, no remarketing pixels, and zero commercial tracking beacons.
03 Information Collected Automatically (Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the Site is utilized. Analytics operates under Google Consent Mode v2, with defaults set by region:
- EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland: analytics storage is denied by default. No measurement cookies are set unless you choose Accept.
- All other regions: analytics storage is enabled by default, and you can switch it off at any time using Decline on the cookie banner or the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Your choice is stored locally and reapplied on every page you visit.
- Everywhere: advertising storage is denied by default and we do not run an ad network.
Your region is determined by Google from your IP address at request time; we do not perform any geolocation lookup of our own, and we do not store your location.
When active, Google Analytics gathers anonymous, aggregated telemetry including:
- Pages visited and aggregate time spent per tool
- Referring domains (how you discovered Calculover)
- General geographic region (country/city level — never granular or GPS-based)
- Device category, browser engine, operating system, and viewport resolution
This information is strictly aggregated and cannot be used by us to identify any individual visitor. We use it solely to evaluate calculator popularity and fix user experience bottlenecks.
04 Local Storage, Offline Caching & Live Inspector
Certain calculators utilize your browser's localStorage API to remember recent parameters and preferences (such as your light/dark theme preference) so they persist when you return. This data:
- Is stored purely on your physical device — it is never transmitted over the network.
- Contains zero personal identifiers beyond the mathematical inputs you chose to enter.
- Can be inspected, verified, and completely wiped at any moment via your browser or the live tool below.

Here are the actual keys currently saved on your device by Calculover:
The Site also registers a Service Worker that caches HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and fonts locally so previously loaded calculators work offline without an active internet connection. Furthermore, calculators featuring a Share button encode parameters into the URL hash or query string — that data exists exclusively inside the link you copy.
05 Cookies & Consent
Calculover itself sets zero first-party tracking cookies. Google Analytics may set measurement cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish aggregate visitor sessions, subject to our Consent Mode defaults and governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of Google Analytics measurement completely using the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by enabling strict tracking prevention in your browser settings.
06 Contact Form & Direct Inquiries
If you submit an inquiry through our Contact Page, your message and reply email are securely processed via Formspree (a dedicated form dispatch infrastructure) under Formspree's Privacy Policy. If you email us directly, we see your email address and message body.
In both circumstances, we use your correspondence solely to respond to your technical question or feedback — we never add you to marketing lists, newsletters, or third-party mailing directories.
07 How We Use Information
The anonymous analytics data we receive is utilized exclusively for platform maintenance:
- Identifying high-traffic calculators to prioritize speed and formula optimizations
- Analyzing search discovery patterns to help more students and engineers locate free tools
- Detecting edge-case browser compatibility anomalies or broken script states
- Determining which upcoming calculator domains to research and build next
08 Data Sharing & Non-Sale Guarantee
The only third-party infrastructure providers that process telemetry or communications are Google Analytics (aggregated anonymous metrics, section 03) and Formspree (voluntary inquiries you choose to submit, section 06).
09 Third-Party Links
Our educational guides link to authoritative external primary sources (e.g. IRS revenue procedures, NIST metrology standards, NIH clinical databases, and statutory publications). Selected pages may also include partner links transparently detailed in our Affiliate Disclosure. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of external web destinations.
10 Children's Privacy
Calculover is an open educational suite designed for general utility. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. Because our system does not harvest personal profiles or require accounts, children can utilize our STEM tools safely without privacy exposure.
11 Data Security
Because Calculover does not store personal datasets or account credentials in a central database, there is virtually zero target surface for data breach exposure. All web traffic is strictly encrypted using HTTPS and modern TLS cipher suites, and all calculation logic executes deterministically on your local device.
12 Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Global)
Global privacy regulations (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and UK-GDPR) grant users rights regarding access, deletion, and portability. Because Calculover operates without personal user profiles, there is generally no personal database record for us to produce or remove. You maintain complete direct authority over:
- Your Local Browser Storage: You can clear localStorage and cached assets at any time via your browser settings or using the live storage wiper above.
- Direct Correspondence: If you emailed us and wish to purge past support threads, simply email privacy@calculover.com and we will delete the correspondence immediately.
13 Changes to This Policy
We may periodically update this policy to reflect new browser capabilities, regulatory standards, or platform enhancements. Revisions are posted on this page with an updated effective date, and key architectural changes will always be highlighted in the notice banner at the top.
